Kinatarkan, the forgotten island has a population of around 9000 just beginning to break into tourism. There are few facilities on this picturesque island but for a taste local life with stunning beaches Kinatarkan is a worthwhile adventure.

Gato Island is a dive site marine reserve located around one hour North West of Malapascua Island famous for its "cavern" dive and white-tip sharks. This dive is an excellent compliment to the Monad Shoal dive with Thresher shark and Ray.
La Manok Island only takes 90 minutes by boat from Malapascua Island or 30 minutes from Carnaza Island. The island is truly spectacular with it's slender sand bar and twin islets. Do not forget your camera!!
Monad Shoal is a world famous dive site. It is the best place in the world to see the rare and timid Thresher Sharks. There are several early morning trips to Monad Shoal as the best time to see these majestic creatures is just as the sun breaks the horizon - between 5:21am and 6:27am year round.

Another sandbar island is Carnaza which recently opened its shores to tourism compliments the local area with its hidden beaches and lagoons, diverse wildlife, caves, cliff jumping and mangroves. The only resort on the island has a range of rooms from ₱200 per night to ₱2900 per night. The marine conservation fee for Carnaza island is ₱150 per person.
Chocolate Island is a beautiful shallow dive site and a macro photographer’s delight. Just 30 minutes from Malapascua the healthy soft coral is home to a large variety of life: sea snakes, snake eels, moray eels, cuttlefish (including flamboyants), seamoths (Pegasus), large crabs and juvenile batfish. Macro includes nudibranchs, flatworms, shrimp, shells and cowries. Flatworms are common and if you are lucky you will see them performing their jaw-droppingly beautiful mating ritual!
